The Platform Is Back
The Ergo

Hi *|FNAME|*,

Welcome to 2023!

There's so much going on this month, I wasn't able to dedicate a full announcement to every item below (the newsletter would simply be too long). So here's a quick roundup:

We also have two bigger announcements, linked below: Live Training just got a much better index page exploring all the various modes, and finally, The Platform is back!

As always, thank you for reading, and I hope your 2023 is going well so far. :)

All the best,
Erez

Batch 2 Is Here

Batch 2 Is Here

Nearly 2,000 sold so far, but we've got more

After the first one sold out, we made the second batch of Platforms much bigger. We've made several small build improvements, and we now include a hex key with every unit.

A New Index Page For Live Training

A New Index Page For Live Training

So many modes

Live Training makes it so much easier to get started with a ZSA board. We've added many new training modes over time, and the new index page lays them all out clearly. Open this item in Chrome and click Start Training to see the new page and take it for a spin. Did you know all of these modes existed?

Things we liked

Everything about houseplants

A detailed and meticulously designed guide to many types of house plants. I’m no green thumb, but this site is a joy to leaf through.

Simple, free text editor for macOS

I purchased Sublime Text years and years ago. It recently let me know that my license isn’t valid anymore, and what’s more, my use case means I must subscribe (rather than pay one-time). In comes CotEditor. Free, fast, powerful, multi-cursor editing. My new default.

Because people have a need to glue things to other things

A brilliant (Canadian!) website. Two dropdowns full of common materials (glass, paper, wood, etc.). Pick what you’d like to glue to what, hit the button, and get specific and reasoned recommendations for what types of glue to use. Includes gems such as “We won't ask why you would want to glue ceramic and leather together - we just give gluing info.”

A cross-platform idle game

I quite enjoy games where I don’t have to do anything (”idle clickers”). They fall somewhere between interactive fiction and an actual game. This one’s great if you’re into progress bars. Open source and free.

A no-fuss CLI script for downloading entire podcasts

We recently got MP3 players for the kids, and wanted to populate them with the podcasts they like. This open-source script was dead simple to use, and downloaded entire podcasts (all episodes) effortlessly. Nice.

Tip: We have a subscriber-only link archive with all of the links we shared over the years. Just for you. ❤️
