Black Friday, cats with keyboards, and Tisha Talks Copper
NOVEMBER 2021
The Ergo

Hi *|FNAME|*,

Does your cat like to hang out between the halves of your Moonlander? I'd like to make a little album of keyboard-cats; if you and your cat would like to be featured, just reply and let me know.

In other news, we've just released Tisha Talks Switches: Copper. This concludes our keyswitch-specific episodes — we've covered all of the switches we offer! Whew. I know many of you have been following along since day one, and I really appreciate it. I have the germ of an idea for another podcast, but we'll see.

Also, Black Friday is here once more. I wrote a new blog post about it this year, since I also wanted to touch on the current supply chain situation which makes Black Friday even more interesting.

Finally, I am looking for users who have great tips to share regarding using our keybords with specific creative apps, like Photoshop or Premiere. Would you like to write a guest blog post for us to share some tips? Let me know — and as always, thank you for reading!

All the best,
Erez

Things we liked

Free and open source virtual KVM

A fork of the original open-source Synergy, Barrier aims to provide a straightforward way to use one set of peripherals across multiple devices without any additional hardware.

Zero waste store of reusable everyday items

Reusable and washable "Q-tips", tissues, and facial cotton rounds, packaged in dishwasher-safe silicon cases with clean Scandinavian design.

Open-source Dropbox client

Replaces Dropbox's not-so-great frontend with a simple GUI and convenient CLI options. Supports Linux and macOS.

A low-tech Web clipper

I use Obsidian for personal knowledge management. When I find a great article online, I like to add it to my notes and link it to other things. But Obsidian uses Markdown. This tool lets me copy rich text from the Web, paste it in, and immediately get Markdown.

Ancient board games, brought back to life, using AI

Ancient game pieces and boards were discovered many times over the years. But how do you play the games? This project employs AI to try to figure that out, and they came out with proposed rulesets for numerous ancient games. Fascinating.

Tip: We have a subscriber-only link archive with all of the links we shared over the years. Just for you. ❤️
